Presvytera and Fr. Barnabas welcomed Milica Leona Powell into this world last Friday night after four hours of labor.

She is named after Tsaritsa Milica, the widow of Tsar Lazar who fell in battle in Kosovo fighting the Muslim conquerers in 1389. After her husband's death, she became a nun and founded a monastery (Ljubostinja) on the sight where they first met.

Her middle name is given in honor of the saint on whose day she was born, Leo the Great, Pope of Rome.
